Psychosocial Recovery Coaching

Work toward your recovery goals with personalised guidance

What is Psychosocial Recovery Coaching?

Psychosocial recovery coaching supports you to identify and work toward your personal recovery goals while living with a psychosocial disability. A recovery coach works alongside you to develop strategies, build on your strengths, and connect you with the supports and services that can help you live the life you want.

Recovery looks different for everyone. Your recovery coach isn't there to fix you or tell you what to do. Instead, they work collaboratively with you, helping you identify what matters most, navigate challenges, and celebrate progress along the way.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is recovery coaching different from therapy?

Recovery coaches focus on practical goal-setting and day-to-day living, while therapists address clinical treatment. They work well together. Your recovery coach can help you stay connected with your therapist and other clinical supports.

What if I'm not sure what my goals are?

That's okay and very common. Part of recovery coaching is exploring what matters to you and what you'd like your life to look like. We'll work through this together.

How often will I meet with my recovery coach?

This depends on your needs and NDIS plan. Some people meet weekly, others fortnightly or monthly. We'll work out what makes sense for you.

What if I have a setback or crisis?

Setbacks are a normal part of recovery. Your coach will support you through difficult times and help you reconnect with crisis supports if needed. We can adjust our approach based on how you're doing.

Can recovery coaching help me get back to work or study?

Yes! If work or education is one of your goals, your recovery coach can help you plan steps toward this, build relevant skills, and connect you with employment or education supports.
