Mentoring
Build skills and confidence with one-on-one guidance
What is Mentoring?
Mentoring provides personalised, one-on-one guidance to help you develop specific skills, work toward personal goals, and build confidence in your abilities. A mentor is someone who walks alongside you, sharing knowledge and experience while supporting you to discover your own strengths and solutions.
Unlike general support work, mentoring is focused on growth and capability building. Your mentor helps you develop skills you can use independently, supporting you to become more confident and self-sufficient in areas that matter to you.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is mentoring different from regular support work?
Mentoring focuses specifically on teaching skills and building capacity, not just providing assistance. The goal is for you to eventually do things independently, with your mentor stepping back as you grow.
How often will I meet with my mentor?
This depends on your goals and NDIS plan. Some people meet weekly, others fortnightly or monthly. We'll work out a schedule that suits your learning pace and budget.
What if I'm not sure what skills I want to work on?
That's okay! Your mentor can help you identify areas where you'd like to grow. We often start by exploring what matters to you and what would make life easier or more fulfilling.
Can I have the same person as both my mentor and support worker?
Sometimes, yes. It depends on the type of support you need and whether it makes sense to have one person fill both roles. We can discuss what works best for you.
How long does mentoring last?
Mentoring can be short-term (focused on specific skills over a few months) or long-term (ongoing support as you work toward bigger life goals). It depends on what you want to achieve.
